CCADS is excited to announce the introductory  Level 1 Implant program with Dr. Frederick Li in Vancouver.  Many of our members  have been asking for an implant program and we will be launching the first one in the spring of 2012.  This unique program has been designed for the dental practice looking to start placing dental implants and is new to restoring edentulous areas with dental implants.  The program will give you a foundational knowledge and practical hands-on experience to help you gain the skills you will need to introduce surgical implant dentistry into your practice in the future. There will be limited places for this program so to avoid disappointment - please register early.

Dr. Li will assist the clinician in discovering for themselves what methods, tips and techniques would be best to use in dental implantology. The goal of this program is to give the dentist and team a basic understanding of dental implantology and  what is required to achieve an excellent result.


The Level 1 is a day and half program and the outline is as follows:

Day 1 :

• Introduction to the equipment
• Intensive day of model surgery on anatomic models featuring simulated soft tissue, bone topography and anatomic landmarks
• Treatment planning for Posterior Single Tooth Replacement

Day 2:

• Each attendee to bring xrays and models of their potential case
• Group case discussion and treatment planning
• Short lecture on surgical stents and surgical logistics
• Demonstration Surgery

Level 2 of the program will  involve the attendees performing surgery on their own patients with assistance from Dr. Li. The dates for Level 2 will be annouced shortly.

This Program will be taught by Dr. Frederick Li.

Dr. Frederick Li graduated from the University of Manitoba College of Dentistry, then completed two years of dental residency in hospital facilities associated with Cornell Medical Center and Columbia University in New York. He gained surgical implant experience from some of the top implant surgeons and prosthodontists in the Greater New York Region.  Dr. Li is also a graduate of the Misch Implant Institute, a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and an associate fellow of the Academy of Implant Dentistry. Dr. Li limits his practice to implant dentistry in Vancouver. He mentors a large surgical implant study club locally and also gives various other programs in British Columbia on implant dentistry.
